South sea pearls are cultured in the relatively unpolluted waters of Tahiti, the Phillippines, West and Northern Australia and Indonesia. They are generally large sizes from 10 - 20mm in size and command extremely high prices for their superior size, quality, rarity and beauty..

In excess of 12mm these cultured freshwater pearls rival their exotic South Sea counter part at a fraction of the price. Unusually large, the pearls come from the Far East where freshwater pearl culturing has been revolutionised over the past 10 years enabling good quality larger sizes to now be produced at very reasonable prices.
